After falling head over heels in love with Maurice it was time to go home. I had already booked my two week flight back to England and when I got home my Visa card bill was just too much to go back and I was heartbroken.
Maurice moved over to Denmark, while I stayed in England saving up my money to go and meet him again. I finally fell back into his arms after around 4 months apart when I landed in Denmark for the first time.
After two too short breaks visiting Maurice, by April 2001 I was able to move over and live with him in Denmark. I finally got a job on a beautiful street, and a nice, but busy restaurant and we were living in a friend at works apartment in the eastern suburbs.
Ever since then we have been coming back to wonderful Copenhagen after our winter holidays away. We will now be on our 5th summer season in Nyhavn and cant wait for it to begin all over again.
I work in Carls Corner in Nyhavn, Copenhagen. Nyhavn is a canal street lined with wonderfully coloured buildings that were once either storage warehouses for the imported/exported goods that were being transported or sailors haunts, Beer dens and strip joints. Now, Nyhavn has shaken that image and all the buildings lower floors are Restaurants with outside terraces while the higher rooms are now apartments. Nyhavn is a very elite address to have.
