Poland

Day one
12/6/05
We've just arrived in Stettin, after a long bus journey from Copenhagen. Luckily it went quite smoothly, we left at around 6 this morning and arrived at our hotel at 2.20 pm. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay in the most expensive hotel here (we booked a joker trip, which means that you get put into the hotel that the company choose - we've done it twice to Berlin and it worked in our favour, but not this time!), but Nick didn't want to risk it and paid for the Radisson Hotel. Oh well, at least we may be able to use the facilities at his place. Our hotel is ok, the room smells a little musky, the hot water takes a long time to come, but apart from that its got some character!.
Off for dinner and drinks with Nick...That's if we find his hotel, and that he's not fallen asleep in the spa.

Day two
13/6/05

Had a wonderful meal last night in an Indian place, best Indian I've had since India!. Had few drinks in an English pub before dinner, then to an Irish pub after. Nick left us there and Maurice and I stayed till the end and went back to the hotel. We were ready to go to bed, but heard the music coming from the hotels club and followed it down. We met a great guy down there, called Stephen, who we tried to communicate with, but couldn't very well so we were just talking absolute nonsense to each other after a few dances, it was time to go to bed.
Shopped a little during the day and met Nick at the cinema this evening. Quiet night.

Day three
14/6/05

Maurice and Nick off to the Golf course today...Hooray!. Me time to do some shopping and exploring.
Shopped shopped shopped, got so lost and confused, and surprised myself when I found out where I was!. Although Stettin looks pretty grim and miserable, some of the apartment buildings are wonderful.
I stopped for a while and had my hair cut, in a salon that they could only speak Polish. Luckily a customer that was just leaving could speak German so she told them what I wanted (but my German is not good at all, so I was worried about what they might do to me!) and I asked her how much it would cost and she translated. I had my hair washed and when it came to cutting it, she just got stuck into it, occasionally acting out things and seeing if I agreed or not. The funny thing was all the other customers, the other hair dresser and all the girls that worked there (the washer, the sweeper and the cashier) all stopped what they were doing and watched this woman cut my hair. It was quite an experience!. I emergerd from the salon into the hot sun with a big smile on my face and happy with my hair.

Day four
15/06/05

Had a great night last night, I met the other two after their game of golf and went for a meal and drinks at the Irish Pub. Later we made our way back to Nicks hotel and went to the casino. I'd like to say that I made the most money out of the three of us and enjoyed myself.
Today is a day of nothing for all of us (but those two especially as I went home earlier!). I've done a little more exploring and shopping and lots of eating. It's our last night tonight, but none of us are up for a last Hurrah as the most of the trip has been one big Hurrah!.
Tomorrow we have to leave at around 2.30, so we will be able to get a few more things done before we go.

Day Five
16/06/05

Had a nice morning, Maurice and I woke early and took a walk down by the river, and then back into town for strange Polish food shopping. We certainly found some strange stuff.
